Sights that you could spend days deliberating over what to see and what to

Built in the 7th century B.C. by the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huangdi, the Great Wall of China was originally intended to safeguard the Chinese Kingdom from the foreign intruders. Built of rocks, well-packed earth and masonry, this wall is 4,000 miles long, and stretches across about 8 provinces in Northern China. The Forbidden City Located in the heart of Beijing, the Forbidden City is the largest ancient palace in the world. Built in the 15th century, this palace was a residence for about 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing Empires. Comprising 980 buildings, 8,704 rooms, and 90 palaces and courtyards, the Forbidden City is divided into two sections: the outer court and the inner court. The outer court consists of 3 main buildings: namely, the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Central Harmony, and the Hall of Preserving Harmony. The first hall, being the most significant and largest structure in the Forbidden City, has the emperor's "Dragon Throne." The inner court comprises 3 main structures of the Forbidden City, including the Palace of Heavenly Peace, the Palace of Union and Peace, and the Palace of Terrestrial Tranquility. Aside from those, the inner court also has 12 more palaces, which have now been transformed into exhibition halls. |

| The Temple of Heaven Located in Beijing, the Temple of Heaven is a holy emperial shrine of China. Covering an area of about 273 hectares, this temple is a huge structure, larger than even the Forbidden City. Constructed in the 15th century, the Temple of Heaven is composed of three main buildings: the Altar of Prayer for Good Harvests, the Imperial Vault of Heaven, and the Circular Mound Altar. In ancient times, the common people were not allowed within the premises of this temple, but now for a minimum fee, you can spend a whole day there. Silk Road Silk Road was originally a collection of trading routes connecting the ancient Chinese and Roman Empires. Once buzzing with activity, the Silk Road had an enormous number of ancient merchants trading goods like ivory, ceramics, gold, jade, cucumber, walnut, sesame, pomegranate, hides, furs, cattle, and horses. Today, this route is quickly growing in popularity with travelers. While learning the stories of the ancient era and subsequent change of the society, tourists can view archaeological excavations conducted by the Chinese Ministry, and interact with 13 different minority races including Han Chinese, the Tibetans, Mongolians, the Tajik, Kazakhs and Uzbeks. You can also visit the Sunday markets here, with people of many different nationalities selling various goods. que hacer China - Que ver en Asia Si estas buscando cosas que hacer en Pekin, China, aqui le daremos varias ideas. |
