| Mykonos Travel Guide Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and see fullmoon in Chora fullmoon in Chora weha Cosmopolitan island, famous in the last decades from the international jet set visitors that have spent here their holidays, in the last few years Mykonos has partially lost its exclusive soul and has been frequented mostly by young people who want to enjoy the island great nightlife (which is often compared to Ibiza and Ayia Napa). Mykonos beaches are magnificent and are concentrated mostly in the southern side of the island. Here you can choose whether to relax yourself and enjoy the great sea, or to stay in the middle of the crowd and start partying in the afternoon. In the first case you'd choose Agrari Beach or Kalafatis Beach, in the second case you'd choose Paradise Beach or Paraga Beach. Lifestyle is really mediterranean: usually you get lunch in the afternoon (2-4 p.m.) and dinner after midnight. Discoteques get full around 3-4 a.m. and often stay open until 8-10 a.m. August is, of course, the most expensive month and in this period the island is mostly frequented by young Italians (so if you don't like people yelling and making noise all the time just avoid this month). http://www.mykonostour.com ___________Practical Information Edit This Survival kit in Mykonos!! 1.>How do I get to Mykonos? 2.>Where to Stay in Mykonos? 3.>Where is the Mykonos Nightlife Scene? 4.>How I can get to the Mykonos Beaches? 5.>How do I get in to the Bars and Nightclubs? 6.>Is there an after hour parties in Mykonos? 7.>what sort of clothes I should wear in to a bar or nightclub? 1.>>>> In Mykonos you can get by airplane or by boat from the ports of Athens, also you can get by boat from other greek islands that they are connected with the port of Mykonos. The airport of Mykonos gets also international arrivals(charters) from all over Europe so check out if you want a direct flight from European cities to Mykonos. 2.>>>> In Mykonos you have to Stay In Mykonos Town or nearby if you want to be in the heart of nightlife. In Mykonos town there are plenty of hotels, appartments, rooms, studios, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The trasportation to go to beaches can be by public bus, taxi or private vehicle that you can hire. 3.>>>> Where else! In Mykonos town of course!.Mykonos town is the capital of Mykonos nightlife where you can find everything. All the most important bars and clubs are in Mykonos town of course there are also restaurants and any other services that you will like to get: like tourist shops, cafes, clothing stores, jewelery shops, banks etc.In Mykonos town you will see a lot of promoters for clubs that they are outside from Mykonos town just dont believe them, believe in the word of mouth that is always right so you dont waiste a night in a place that can be completely empty!! By the way Mykonos town is good cause even if a bar is empty you can do easily bar hopping! because all the bars and clubs are really close around 50-100m from each other. 4.>>>> To Mykonos Beaches you can get by public bus, taxi or private vehicle that you can hire. 5.>>>> In Bars and Nightclubs you get in by paying an entrance fee that includes one drink. From bar to bar prices are not the same so check out first. 6.>>>> most of the nights there are after hour parties but usually people stay in Mykonos town until 5:00 or 6:00 and then they go there. 7.>>>> You can wear any sort of clothes you feel like.Just wear something really comfortamble cause you will dance untill the morning!! ______________Beaches Edit This The Tropicana Beach Club The Tropicana Beach Club Giorgio Baresi Mykonos doesn't mean just discos and parties. Here you can find a lot of magnificent beaches. I have visited 22 beaches on Mykonos so far, and my favorite beaches are the more uncultivated and quiet beaches in the north of the island, the ones without the umbrellas, the beachchairs and the swimming outfits. One of them, my absolute favorite, is what I call my secret beach, which is the most beautiful of them all and which is practically always empty. Another one that I really like is Fokos, which is in the north. I will describe that one here. Fokos beach is situated in the north of Mykonos island in the bay of Myrsini. It's not on all the maps of Mykonos, but it can be reached after taking a turn in the village of Ano Mera. Fokos Beach is one of the nicest beaches on Mykonos island, a big sand beach, with a place for nudists as well. There are no facilities on the beach like sunbeds and umbrella's, but there is one taverna, which is actually one of the best tavernas of the whole of Mykonos with comfortable chairs, a view over the beach, and off course delicious food. The people you see on the small picture are my two friends ;). If you want to take a better look at the pictures of the beaches than go to my website. I think it's one of the best about the island of Mykonos and there are a lot of pictures on it. It's also not a commercial website, but it is the homepage of an island hop-a-holic. Usually Mykonos nights start at 6-7 p.m. with a few parites on the beach and last until 7-10 a.m., when the best party animals on the island are still dancing on the various dancefloors. The clubs/discos listed below will be categorized as: - Pre-dinner (crowded between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.) - Post-dinner (crowded between 1 a.m. and 4 p.m. circa) - Discoteques (crowded between 3 a.m. and 7-10 a.m.) You'll find several PRs both on the beaches and in Mykonos Town that will advise you on the best parties that are held every day, so just listen to them and take your decision.
