GALDINO CAMPOS CLINIC Edit This GALDINO CAMPOS CLINIC is an amazing medical clinic that is specialized in foreigners. For some dumb reason, I got caught with a flu during my stay in Rio and things got worse from there. I had a high temperature and was feeling really sick. Thankfully, I was with a group of friends who contacted the hotel service requesting medical assistance which met my needs right away. They even came by the hotel to pick me up and that´s good service. Sure I had to spend the night at the Galdino Campos clinic, but I wasn´t complaining. There is a Tourist Police along the beach, and this has significantly helped the city's image. Be careful and carry only as much money as you can afford to lose. Please do not carry any valuable objects (i.e. expensive watch or cameras) with you. Dress casually, like local inhabitants do. Buses and yellow taxis can be found at the airport, although taking the bus from the airport can be risky. Yellow taxis are generally quite good and cost effective for short journeys, just bare in mind that many taxi drivers drive like Ayreton Senna! Other options are available in the form of private, unmarked taxi services such as Rio Airport Transfer.
